1-2-3 Newsletter with Sarah

Welcome back to our weekly newsletter where each week a member of our team shares 1 Joke, 2 Quotes and 3 Ideas to bring “a little something” to your week: whether you need a laugh, inspiration or a moment of quiet reflection, we hope you find it here. Enjoy!
Hey y’all! Sarah here. I hope you are enjoying the end of summer – getting plenty of sunshine and finding joy in the simple things. I’ve been taking every available opportunity these days to “get out of dodge” – heading to suburban trails for running & hiking. (Trail running is actually becoming something of a major hobby for me… if you are into this, I’d love to hear your favorite trails and gear!)
1 Joke
Any other “The Office” lovers out there? If so, I’d highly recommend the “Office Ladies” podcast with Jenna Fischer (Pam) and Angela Kinsley (Angela). It’s tons of fun with great light and fluffy content which I’m finding as a nice balance in 2020.
“I love inside jokes. I’d love to be part of one someday.” – Michael Scott, “The Office”. Staying on theme here!
“If you don’t like something, change it. If you can’t change it, change your attitude.” – Maya Angelou
I find this quote to be very empowering, especially in the age of COVID. There is so precious little we can control these days, but we can always change and control how we respond to things that come our way.
3 Ideas for Mind, Body, Soul
I’ve been loving a book of poetry called “Salt Water” by Brianna Wiest. She is a contemporary writer/poet who writes beautiful, relatable poems and essays about the ups and downs of life.
Aside from my regular routine of running (and foam rolling!), hiking, and yoga, I am also a huge fan of Epsom salt baths! Toss a little essential oil in there, light a candle, and it’s basically a mini vacation, even if you only have 15 minutes to spare.
My dog, Charlotte, makes our house happy, fun… and a little bit crazy!
She is a ball of pure sweetness and love and I am so grateful that she is part of our family, especially this year when things feel scary and uncertain.
Thanks for reading! That’s all for this week’s 1-2-3 Thursday Thoughts. Tune in next week for another installment from your team at TBC!
